YARN FORMING (Soota Nirmaan)
Along
with a brief historical review of different methods
of converting fibres into yarns, the technologies
used widely at present are described. Spinning preparatory
machines, ring and rotor spinning; friction, airjet,
vortex, wrap spinning are all covered. Machinery
features needed for adapting the basic spinning
process for different natural fibres-cotton, wool,
jute etc., and for manmade fibres-viscose, polyester,
acrylic etc, and their blends are indicated. Principles
of testing of yarns and intermediate products for
quality are described. |
