• Established on the 1st of May, the Maharashtra Day, in 1992, as a fully funded autonomous institute by the Government of Maharashtra.
• Registered as an organization under clause 21 of the Societies Act of 1860 on 2nd January 1993.
• Registered as a Public Trust under Mumbai Public Trust Act of 1950 0n 10th Sepember 1993.
• Received recognition from the Income Tax Department, Government of India, as a charitable organization permitted to receive donations under Clause 80G; i.e. 100% of the donated amount is free from income tax.
• Registered under the Foreign contributions (Regulations) Act, 1976, to receive donations in any foreign currency on 24th October 2003.
