Knowledge in Mother Tongue
-
Technical
knowledge is not yet fully available in Indian
languages. Consequently, over 90 percent of
the persons engaged in technical activities
are deprived of the advantage of learning systematically
about the subjects they deal with every day.
As a result, their understanding of their own
jobs and functions is inadequate. Therefore,
achieving the expected levels of excellence
in work becomes almost impossible. A step towards
removing this lacuna is to produce appropriate
technical information in the language of the
masses: in Marathi for Maharashtra, in Gujarati
for Gujarat, in Tamil for Tamil Nadu, etc.
