Specific Objectives

To give authentic information in simple Marathi language on all
processes of manufacture involved in production of fibres,yarns,
fabrics, garments, household and technical textiles.

To compile a dictionary of Marathi textile terms, based on words
used colloquially, by the traditional craftsmen and industrial
workers in textile and clothing industry.

To develop an appropriate vocabulary for textile science,
technology and management, through defining specific meanings of
words.

To compile the encyclopaedia subject wise, rather than
alphabetically, and to provide diagrams and photographs for easy
readability of the text.

To outline the position and the status of the Indian Industry in
the context of the world textile situation, including global
competition.

To indicate the ecological aspects, such as air and water
pollution, arising out of textile processes and how these are
controlled.

To give a brief idea of the supplier industries to textiles and
other ancillary industries dependent on textiles.

To bring out a critical compendium of the cultural and
linguistic manifestations of textiles, which have enriched Marathi
over a millennium.
